HARD STARTING

These Hard Starting deposits form in, and cleaning is applied to, 3 general areas of your engine--1. fuel system (cleaned by our Injector Cleaner in the fuel tank--very easy), 2. crankcase (cleaned by our Tune Up--easy), and 3. air intake / exhaust (cleaned by our Tune Up plus IV Tube--not difficult).

  • Intake Valves: Dry carbon deposits act like a sponge, absorbing fuel during cranking. Area 3 air intake / exhaust (Gasoline engines only with our iv tube)

  • Fuel Injectors: Clogged tips fail to deliver sufficient fuel during cold starts. Area 1 fuel tank

  • Spark Plugs: Heavy soot prevents proper spark generation under high cranking pressure. Area 1 fuel tank

  • Throttle Body / IAC Valve: Restricts air entry needed for initial startup. Area 3 air intake / exhaust (Gasoline engine only with our iv tube)

  • Piston Rings: Low cold compression due to stuck rings prevents initial combustion heat from building. Area 2 crankcase

  • Glow Plugs (Diesel): Soot buildup insulates glow plug tips, preventing adequate heating of the cold combustion chamber. Area 1 fuel tank

  • EGR Valve: Carbon jamming the valve open allows inert exhaust gas to displace fresh oxygen needed for starting. Area 1 fuel tank(to reduce soot load in exhaust)
